The first act of a new year is usually attempting to remove that pulsating tractor wheel of pudding and booze that’s amassed around your waist over the past fortnight. But with so many different diets on the market, all making wildly different claims, choosing the right one can be difficult. Readers, this is where I step in.

Because I love you all dearly and equally, last year I spent only four days on this diet and lost 8 pounds. I wasn’t really overweight before I went on this adventure, but we could all do with a post-Christmas cleanse.

Diet Menu:

Day 1:

Breakfast: 1 orange or one pear, 2 toast, a cup of coffee or tea without sugar
Lunch: 1 orange, 1 boiled egg, 1 yogurt
Dinner: 2 tomatoes, 2 boiled eggs, lettuce

Day 2:

Breakfast: 1 orange or one pear, 2 toast, a cup of coffee or tea without sugar
Lunch: 125 g of cottage cheese, 1 orange, 1 toast
Dinner: 125 g of minced meat, 2 tomatoes, 1 apple, 1 toast

Day 3:

Breakfast: 1 orange or one pear, 2 toast, a cup of coffee or tea without sugar
Lunch: 1 orange, 1 boiled egg, 1 sour cream, lettuce
Dinner: 125 g minced meat, 1 tomato, 1 orange, 1 cup of coffee or tea

Day 4:

Breakfast: 1 orange or one pear, 2 toast, a cup of coffee or tea without sugar
Lunch: 200 g of cooked meat or fish, 1 tomato, 1 toast
Dinner: 500 g of cooked vegetables (carrots, cauliflower), 1 egg

Do not drink alcohol. The food you can eat hot or cold, but it is important to take them in the correct order.
